Travel Essentials You Need

Flight essentials

For those of us that travel often, we’ve acquired strange habits that we’ve grown accustomed to and are very specific about. Things like what airlines we prefer (#iflyalaska 😉 ), airlines we refuse to fly on, and if we’re “aisle people” or “window people”. I’m very proud to say I’ve mastered my own flight techniques down to the second. I think the perfect time to arrive at the airport is when you can walk from security straight onto your flight without waiting (and I wonder why people don’t like flying with me…). I also take a lot of pride in my packing skills, I don’t travel heavy and never check a bag. Carry-on only gang, here! I want to share my travel ESSENTIALS that I cannot live without!!!

Organizer bags

This seems like such a small tip but organizer bags are just one of those things that save me so much time, and you all know I LOVE saving time. I have 2 organizer bags I carry with me on a flight – one carries the chargers and cords I may need on the flight in my work bag and the other carries chargers and cords I’ll need in the hotel that goes in my suitcase. Nothing is worse than having to reach in your bag and pulling out the wrong cord over and over again.

Lo & Sons Tote

I am obsessed with my Lo & Sons bag! I got it as a birthday gift and I take it with me on all my travels as my personal item. The Catalina Deluxe Tote is my fav because it can fit under my seat if it’s not 100% full and has a separate bottom compartment that you can keep separate to divide items or roll it back for one large tote. Also, my FAVORITE part about it that I’m very particular with is that it has a suitcase sleeve to attach to your roller bag. It’s surprisingly SO large and can hold a lot. You would think I was sponsored to share this info with you, but I’m not HA! Just a very happy customer.

Noise-canceling headphones

NOISE CANCELING HEADPHONES ARE A TRAVEL MUST! Let me start by saying I have NOTHING against babies, but our last trip to London was miserable. We sat next to a screaming baby. Not crying, but SCREAMING while the mom laid down with her earplugs in and took a nap! It was such a distraction that the people around us were offering to hold the baby for her. After that my fiance bought me noise-canceling headphones for Christmas and have never flown without them. I even got him a pair this past Christmas so I don’t have to keep sharing mine 😉 We can’t wait to use them together on our Honeymoon!

Water Bottle

I’ve read way too many articles about the water on planes… If you haven’t yet, I don’t recommend you do it. They even say it’s cleaner to not wash your hands after using the airplane lavatory than to wash them with that dirty sink water, YUCK. Even though Alaska Airlines is one of the top-rated for “clean water”, just avoid it if you can. I’ll drink coffee and tea when I absolutely crave it but typically don’t drink anything on flights except for the free wine 😉 Just bring an empty water bottle with you to fill up before your flight.

Garment Steamer

THIS portable steamer is a MUST for every professional! This comes with me on all my work trips. It’s so small and easy to carry plus it takes less than 5 minutes to heat up. I wear a lot of light fabrics and walking into an office with a wrinkly linen suit is NOT a cute look.

Shoe bag

You guessed it – one of my travel essentials! Before I owned shoe bags, I just used the hotel’s laundry bags. Think of how yucky it is that you walk everywhere then toss your shoes in the suitcase with your clean clothes or hairbrush. EW. This is one of those travel essentials you may have not thought of but necessary.

Packing Cubes

You NEED packing cubes and hopefully you have them already because if not then you’re missing out. Imagine you’re running behind for a dinner meeting, you just got off your flight and you NEED to find your dress THIS SECOND! You run to the bathroom for a shameless wardrobe change and rather than digging and throwing your clothes around to find this one dress, you unzip your packing cube, throw your dress on and go?! Dramatic? Probably. But really, you need packing cubes. Plus you’ll also save a ton of space.

Pill organizer

I try to be on top of taking my vitamins because I spend a lot of time on flights, a.k.a tubes that cycle dirty air. I’m also on the road mostly on the weekdays so I like to make sure I’m bringing my vitamins with me. For a while I tried out Care/Of vitamins but they discontinued the supplement I liked leaving me with a bunch of other overpriced supplements. Here are the cutest pillboxes!

Enjoy your future travels with my favorite travel essentials!

A fascinating discussion is definitely worth comment. I do think that you ought to publish more about this topic, it may not be a taboo subject but typically people dont speak about such issues. To the next! Many thanks!!
